How Our Pricing Works (Tax Is Already In)
Every nightly rate you see below is a from-price with Maryland's 14% lodging tax already baked in — the state requires advertised prices to include it, and we like the honesty of it. What you see is closer to what you pay. Booking direct at tunnelhotel.com/book adds no online booking fees, checkout runs through Stripe, and cancellations 72+ hours out are refunded in full. Queen Rooms — $79.79 for Two
The Little Savage Sleeper and the Queen City Sleeper are the entry point: one queen bed, two people, $79.79 all-in. These are the rooms for couples, solo riders who want a real bed after a limestone day, and anyone doing Frostburg on a budget without resorting to a tent. If your party is two and nobody needs a sofa, stop reading here and book one — the extra dollars elsewhere buy space you won't use.
Deluxe Rooms — $91.19 with a Pull-Out
The Tunnel Deluxe and Depot Deluxe each pair a queen bed with a pull-out, sleeping four from $91.19 a night. The math is the argument: for $11.40 more than a queen room, you double the headcount. That makes the deluxes the default answer for a small family, two friends who want separate beds, or a couple that simply likes a sitting spot that converts when the kids tag along.
Bunk Rooms — $136.79 and $147.06
Groups get two purpose-built options. Braddock's Bunk Room sleeps four in bunks from $136.79 — ideal for a riding crew that wants individual beds instead of shared queens. The Big Savage Bunk Room is the group flagship: a queen plus two bunk sets sleeping six from $147.06, more heads under one roof than anything else we rent and the anchor of our group packages. Nobody draws the short straw on a pull-out; everybody gets a real mattress.
The Railrider Retreat Suite — $169.86
Top of the range. The suite sleeps four from $169.86 nightly and sells one thing the other rooms can't: room to live, not just sleep. It's the pick for longer stays, remote-work-plus-riding trips, and anyone who wants the most space the 1888 building offers. Note the trade against the bunk rooms — the Big Savage sleeps more people for less money, the suite gives four people more room. Primitive Camping — $17.10 a Person
The budget floor and, for some guests, the whole point: 20+ primitive tent sites at $17.10 per person per night, tax included, with an ADA-accessible site available. Campers share the property with the inn — same depot district, same cafe downstairs for hot breakfast and wood-fired pizza — so it's camping with a coffee machine within walking distance. Thru-riders on a Pittsburgh-to-DC budget lean on it hard.
